FORMER SOVIET STATE NAMES STREET AFTER BUSH
Georgia has decided to name a street in Tbilisi, its capital, after President Bush to thank him for the help he has offered the country’s economy, Russian newspapers reported Wednesday.
Washington gave Tbilisi a grant of nearly $300 million for road building and to restore a gas pipeline, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper reported. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Georgia deserved this, given its successes in building a democratic society and a free economy.
