Here we go again, Gulf Coast Region braces for MAJOR HURRICANE (story)

Hurricane Katrina is a very powerful hurricane and continues to strengthen slowly with 100 mph winds with the pressure in the center continuing to fall via reports from the Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters. This trend is forecast to continue with Katrina likely to reach major hurricane strength by Saturday into Sunday making it a very dangerous storm. This storm has already killed 7 and injured hundreds as it passed over the southern tip of Florida.

This story is of personal significance for me living on the Gulf Coast. So if the site isn't updated for a few days you know why LOL. Here are a few links that stay on my desktop during Hurricane Season. Check them out.

Lawmakers in both parties urged debate on REAL ID andmore than 600 organizations opposed the legislation. Moreover, thelegislation passed at a time of growing concern about identity theftand the reliability of new hi-tech identification.

This was interesting reading too just a little stuff on out right to travel:
Air Travel Privacy http://www.epic.org/privacy/airtravel/default.html

The right to travel is a part of the "liberty" of which the citizen cannot be deprived without due process of law under the Fifth Amendment ... Freedom of movement across frontiers in either direction, and inside frontiers as well, was a part of our heritage. Travel abroad, like travel within the country, may be necessary for a livelihood. It may be as close to the heart of the individual as the choice of what he eats, or wears, or reads. Freedom of movement is basic in our scheme of values. "Our nation," wrote Chafee, "has thrived on the principle that, outside areas of plainly harmful conduct, every American is left to shape his own life as he thinks best, do what he pleases, go where he pleases."
-- Justice William O. Douglas, Kent v. Dulles (1958)
